Strahan Village is located by the water in Macquarie Harbour on the edge of Tasmanian World Heritage wilderness. The tranquil accommodation in Strahan reflects the calm pace of the Tasmanian coastal town, where time is marked by sunrise, sunset and the surrounding untamed wildnerness.

We are a part of NRMA Expeditions, a part of the National Roads and Motorists' Association. NRMA Expeditions also owns and operates Gordon River Cruises, Freycinet Lodge and Cradle Mountain Hotel.

QUESTIONS?

Yes, all of our Destinations properties have accomodation for staff. Strahan Village offers a variety of staff accommodation, all located within walking distance or a very short drive of the property. Couples may share a double room at a discounted rate.

All accommodation is fully furnished, including bed linen and cooking equipment. Please enquire with People Services for rental prices.

Many employees, especially our seasonal staff and working holiday makers, come to Strahan Village and our other properties without their own transport. We ask all new employees to make their own way to the Village to commence induction before starting work – we can assist with transport options if required.

If your assigned staff accommodation is offsite, you will need to arrange your own transport to and from work. Having your own vehicle is useful if you wish to explore the broader area, as there is very limited local public transport.

Our People Services team will provide you with more information about induction if you are offered a position with Strahan Village.

Yes, all of our employees are required to wear a uniform. In most cases, we will provide branded items of clothing such as shirts, aprons and jackets at no charge – we ask employees to provide their own black trousers and appropriate footwear.

All of our positions are covered by the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010. Many positions are casual and are paid by the hour in accordance with their classification under the Award.

When you apply for a position via the NRMA website, your resume is uploaded to our online recruitment system and will be reviewed by the People Services team. You will receive an acknowledgement email to confirm that your application has been received. Many of our casual positions are advertised on an ongoing basis and do not have a specific closing date, so applications are reviewed as they are received. We endeavour to contact applicants as soon as we can to keep them updated on the progress of their application, but cannot always respond immediately.

Strahan Village is located on Tasmania's west coast on the edge of one of the last expanses of temperate rain forest found on the planet. Outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and sand tobogganing are popular.

Only Telstra’s network works well in Strahan. Optus works further afield in Zeehan and Queenstown only.

New employees need to bring only their personal belongings with them to property, as all of our staff accommodation is fully furnished. You may also bring your own bed linen if you wish. We recommend that you bring some warm clothing and sturdy shoes to cater for all types of weather.
