Gordon River Cruises: In addition to the award winning Gordon River Cruise, that takes you deep into UNESCO World Heritage wilderness, there are a number of other cruise options. You can take a chartered cruise across Macquarie Harbour, catch dinner on a chartered fishing expedition or explore convict history with a dedicated small-group expedition. An absolutely perfect and personal way to explore the local area; aboard the Sophia departing from Strahan.
West Coast Wilderness Railway: all aboard for a half-day steam train journey across the rack and pinion track, through old growth forest and the King River Gorge. Sit back in comfort and enjoy the guide’s stories of the railway and its history.
Strahan Helicopters: Take to the skies ebove Strahan to enjoy a unique perpective of Tasmania's rugged West Coast. Local scenic flights available, as well as longer flights over the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Transfers between Strahan and Cradle Mountain are offered by Strahan Helicopters too.
The Bonnet Island Experience: Tasmania's most unique penguin tour. Depart the Strahan Esplanade before sunset, cruising to Bonnet Island at Macquarie Heads. Enjoy fine Tasmanian wine, beer, soft drinks and produce as the sun sets over the ocean before stepping ashore to witness the Little Penguins returning to their burrows. This is a fully guided tour. Forward bookings are strongly advised. Maximum group size is 11.
Strahan ATV Adventures: Explore Henty Dunes or Macquarie Heads on a guided ATV adventure with Strahan ATV Adventures. Ride in safety and comfort as you see the West Coast from a different and adrenaline-fueled perspective. Suitable for solo travelers, couples and small groups. Operates seasonally.
Tastings at View 42° Restaurant and Bar: Finish your day exploring the West Coast of Tasmania with a whisky or wine tasting at View 42° and looking over the majestic Macquarie Harbour.

Our Artspace Gallery: on The Esplanade next to the Strahan Activity Centre is the Artspace Gallery – retail shop, activity space and gallery showcasing works by local artisans. Open daily from 2pm – 4pm.
